Look on your tire's sidewall for a code like 225/65R17. That's your tire size. It's also on the sticker inside your driver's door jamb.
In 225/65R17: 225 is the width in millimeters, 65 is the aspect ratio (sidewall height as a percent of width), R means radial, and 17 is the wheel diameter in inches.
You may also see something like 98H — the load index (98 = weight capacity) and speed rating (H = max safe speed). Your replacement should match your vehicle's requirements.
